Brussels waffles with Becks cocoa™

This is a wonderful recipe that we received from our blogger @mrsgreenhousediy. It’s perfect for the run-up to Christmas, but you can also adapt this recipe for any time of year. We especially love that the waffles are so cute and small! This is a wonderful idea!

For the dough you need:

  • 230 g flour and approx. 2-3 tablespoons BecksCocoa “Before Nine” Mint
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 20 g fresh yeast
  • 2 dl lukewarm water
  • 100 melted butter
  • 200 ml lukewarm water
  • 300 ml lukewarm milk

The preparation goes like this:

Mix the flour with the cocoa and sift finely through a sieve. Mix with the egg yolk and the sugar. Dissolve the yeast well in the lukewarm water and add to the dough. Now stir in the lukewarm milk with the melted (but not hot) butter. Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold them in. Leave the dough to rise for half an hour. Then place in the preheated waffle iron and bake. The quantity is enough for approx. 6-8 large waffles. For the mini version, simply “spoon” a small amount of batter onto the iron and bake.

The waffles taste delicious with icing sugar or cream.

And when you’ve whipped enough cream, put a dollop on your cup of cocoa and sprinkle your favourite Beckscocoa variety on top.

Simply heavenly!

And don’t despair if your cocoa tin is suddenly empty, just use it as gift wrapping for your home-baked biscuits, for example! You can find the idea here.
