The secret of the perfect chai?

The basis of classic chai is black tea. Its origins lie in Ayurvedic teachings. Traditionally prepared, the so-called chai wallah boils fine spices such as cinnamon, green cardamom, ginger, white pepper, cloves and nutmeg in black tea for several hours. This creates the intensely spicy flavour and the fine, invigorating effect. In Europe, the tea is known as “chai”. We love the combination of selected spices with black tea, hot milk and sweetness – especially with sugar in moderation!
