Lava cake with apple and cinnamon note

Just take a look at this little cake! This lava cake is simply unbeatably delicious and the ideal dessert for your holidays. It tastes particularly good when it’s still warm :-).

Our lava cake has a liquid center, as it should. We have also refined the chocolate with the new Garden Eden cocoa variety with apple and cinnamon. The apple and cinnamon notes go so well with this recipe right now!

You can prepare the dough itself in 10 minutes and leave it to stand for a while (which is very practical for Christmas). It then takes just 12 minutes to bake. Like pretty much all varieties, Garden Eden is fairtrade with premium cocoa from Africa and South America.

RECIPE for 4 small lava cakes

  • 90g chocolate 70% dark
  • 10g Becks Cocoa “Garden Eden”
  • 60g butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 60g sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 20g flour type 405

Also: margarine to grease the molds, Becks Cocoa Garden Eden, powdered sugar for decorating

Finely chop the dark chocolate. Place the chocolate, Garden Eden Cocoa powder and butter in pieces in a bowl. Heat in the microwave or over a bain-marie until everything has melted. Set aside and leave to cool slightly.

Beat the eggs, sugar and vanilla extract until frothy. Pour in the butter and chocolate mixture (it should have cooled slightly so that the egg does not set).

Grease the ramekins and dust the inside with Garden Eden Cocoa. Divide the batter between the ramekins. Bake the lava cake at 180°C fan oven for 12 minutes. To turn out, loosen the edges slightly and tip onto a plate. Enjoy the lava cake warm.

Note: You can use soufflé cases for the ramekins. Ours have a diameter of 4 cm and a depth of 3.5 cm.
