A little Who’s Who of summer drinks

From frappé to chocolate smoothie

When the thermometer breaks the 20-degree mark in the morning. When bare feet are our favourite footwear and sunglasses are the most important accessory. When the sweet cherries on the tree turn a shade darker every day. Then it’s summertime. Cocoa time. Five delicious ideas for refreshing drinks à la Becks cocoa™.

Iced cocoa

Attention, the biggest challenge in the preparation is right at the beginning: Choose one of our delicious Becks cocoa™ creations (link to shop general). Mix Becks cocoa™ to taste with cold milk and ice cubes in a blender to make a thick and creamy drinking chocolate. Serve iced cocoa in a large mug (360 ml) with a straw. Enjoy chilled.

Frappé

A white drinking chocolate à la Frappé White Wedding or its dark counterpart Frappé Nude form the basis for this melange of cocoa and caffeine. Crush the Becks cocoa™ speciality with milk and ice cubes in a blender. Pour into a large mug (360 ml) and decorate with a straw. Add a freshly brewed espresso, for example Omkafé Diamante, and stir in or let it slowly flow in according to taste. The frappé is ready – or as it is called in New German: “Frappuccino”.

Chocolate smoothie

Fruit meets chocolatey seduction: choose your favourite Becks cocoa™ variety (link to shop in general). Combine 150 ml whole milk, ice cubes and fresh fruit to taste – e.g. strawberries, oranges, pineapple – and blend with the cocoa powder to create a creamy, light, semi-frozen drinking treat. Pour the chocolate smoothie into a giant mug and serve with a fruity decoration.

Iced Latte Macchiato

The lightning refreshment among our summer favourites: Pour milk into a glass with ice cubes and stir until cold. Carefully pour a heavily sweetened espresso, for example with Omkafé Platino , over the ice cubes – et voilà: an Iced Latte Macchiato has a stimulating effect and refreshes tiredness in the oppressive summer heat.

Iced Chai Latte

A refreshing drink with a black tea base: a chai tea (link to chai in general) is naturally invigorating with black tea and strong oriental spices such as ginger, cloves and cinnamon.  Together with cold milk and ice cubes, a creamy, cool, refreshing sorbet is created in the blender. Alternatively, mix three teaspoons of chai powder with the same amount of cold water. Fill a glass two-thirds full with ice cubes, pour on cold milk and let the mixed mixture run over the ice cubes. Enjoy ice cold!
